Nairobi - Barclays Bank of Kenya Managing Director, Adan Mohammed yesterday disclosed that the bank will this year donate Sh40 million towards community development projects.

He said the bank will put more emphasis towards supporting the disadvantaged HIV/Aids and education projects.

Mohammed announced that the bank had launched two new employee-volunteer schemes to boost its community development supports.

He was speaking at a Nairobi hotel when the bank donated Sh10.8 million to seven charity organisations. During the occasion, the Aga Khan Foundation received Sh3.1 million, Amref Sh2.8 million, APDK Sh2 million, while the Kenyatta National Cancer ward received Sh800,000 among other organisations.

The meeting was also attended by the bank's chairman, Sam Ambundo.
